The Texan poker (more precisely Texas Hold’em Poker) is the most played specialty of poker with community cards, it is also the most popular played in the Las Vegas casinos and in the online casinos, both by professional players and from amateurs.   

Recently in Italy it has had success thanks to the television programmes (like for instance The Night of Poker: Texas Hold'em or Poker mania), that have made it a poker game of excellence.  

Its origin is at the beginnings of the twentieth century, and immediately became crowned as one of the par excellence games of poker.   

In 1970 it was selected as one of the games for the WSOP (Word Series of Poker, the most famous tournament of poker in the world, with millionaire jackpots).  

The Texas Hold'em plays with 2 to 10 players, it uses a pack of 52 cards and it has very simple rules.   

To build a point each player has to use 2 personal cards (these cards are covered to the sight of the other players) and 3 community cards (5 community cards placed the table game, visible and usable to all the players for the creation of a good score).  

In the home games the dealer can participate in the game, in the casinos, in the game rooms and in the official games (tournaments, satellites etc) the dealer cannot participate in the game and maintains only the role of the distribution of the cards.  

In the game of the Texas Hold'em it is not in demand a Small Blind (A small obligatory pot before the cards go out, that as in other variations of the poker), but are obligatory two blind bets called Big Blind.   

A blinds is put on at the beginning of the game when the players not yet have received the cards , this bet serves to make the game most desirable and to pre-arrange a jackpot  for which is worth to play for.  

The dealer, as soon as he has established that all the players have positioned the blinds, he begins the distribution of the two personal cards (also called Hole Cards); these cards after having been consulted are positioned on the table game, but may consult them any time the player holds it necessary.   

The two personal cards must be combined with the three of five community cards (these also are called The Board), you position them on the table game so that they are visible to all the players.   

This combination (2 personal cards and 3 community cards) is not determined since there also can be used 1 personal card and 4 community cards or in exceptional cases 5 community cards.  

In the Texas Hold'em game the values of the combinations are distributed, from the highest to the lowest:  

Royal Flush, Straight Flush, Poker, Full, Colour, Straight, Three of a kind, Two Pair, One pair or High Card.   

If all the players in game have to decide the victory of the highest card, the ace is that of the highest value and so by then the other cards.
